Postdoctoral Travel Support
The Postdoctoral Scholar Travel Assistance program is designed to enable postdocs to attend professional conferences to present their research. This funding opportunity will partially offset the expense associated with registration and travel to present your research at local, national or international conferences. You must be a current USC Postdoctoral Scholar to be eligible for this funding opportunity. This program is intended to assist postdoctoral scholars whose attendance at a professional meeting or conference will enhance their professional development. Preference will be given to Postdocs who are 1) chosen to present their research and 2) funding their own travel. All postdoctoral scholars are eligible to apply but may only receive support once per year. The support offered through this program is $500 per scholar and funding is limited.
Instructions for Applying:
If you have not done so already, register an account with the USC SMA portal in the upper right corner. Save your login credentials - you will need this to login to this portal for any future applications. You will need the following in order to submit, but you may start and save the application and return to it anytime.
1. A completed Individual Development Plan
2. Brief letter from your faculty supervisor expressing support for your attendance
3. Proof of being selected as a presenter (if applicable)
4. Proof of registration and proof of expenses paid directly by you (if applicable)
Submitted applications are reviewed on a rolling basis. Please note that travel support is not guaranteed and can only be offered to postdocs while the funding is available. Preference will be given to Postdocs who are 1) chosen to present their research and 2) funding their own travel but these are not necessarily a requirement to receive funding support.
