These are competitions for awards by outside agencies for which USC can nominate a limited number of candidates. Applications for any of the awards listed here must go through an internal review process and receive approval from the USC administration prior to submission to the sponsoring agency. Moreover, internal USC application deadlines are typically at least one to two months in advance of the sponsoring agency’s own deadlines, given the time required for the internal review process.
Please note that applicants are only allowed to submit one application per limited submission opportunity per cycle.
For solicitations posted on our website on or after February 6th 2023, RII has updated the application process for Limited Submission proposals. Applicants are requested to use our new proposal template (click here to download). The expanded 2-page template aims to standardize and increase the transparency of the review process of USC’s research award programs.
It is important that you carefully read the request for proposals (RFP) from the funding agency or foundation to ensure that your proposal meets the aims of the external sponsor.
Faculty should indicate their interest in being considered for a given competition prior to the internal selection process being initiated and their research dean at least two months in advance of the sponsor's deadline.
Investigators interested in applying for any of the awards should contact Research Initiatives and Infrastructure (RII) at rii@usc.edu.
PIs must create their own SurveyMonkey account in order to proceed with submission.
If you are experiencing technical issues using this Limited Submission workspace, please contact RII at rii@usc.edu.
This portal requires information about the PIs and Co-PIs in addition to department and contact information, including the 10-digit USC ID#, Gender, and Ethnicity. Please have this material prepared before beginning this application.
Click here for program information and deadline.
PLEASE NOTE that you must select 'Review' then 'Submit" at the bottom of the Review tab in order to complete your submission to Research and Innovation.
